TURKISH-AMERICAN TELEVISION (TATV) CELEBRATES ITS FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

Turkish-American Television, the award winning voice of the Turkish American community, is celebrating its fifth anniversary.

TATV Celebrating 5th Anniversary

Fairfax, VA September 26, 2010 – Turkish-American Television, the award winning voice of the Turkish-American community, was founded in September 2005 with the mission of bringing programming about Turkey and Turkish-American community life to the Washington D.C. region.

Turkish-American Television is broadcast in both English and Turkish.  English programs feature Turkish culture, music, and art. Turkish programs feature the life stories and experiences of Turks living in the U.S. enabling people with Turkish heritage to acquire a sense of community.

In 2007 Turkish-American Television received the Community Service award from the American-Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC) and was also awarded the Community Access Magic (CAM) Awards in the International Category from Prince George’s County Community TV (PGCTV) in 2007 and 2008.

TATV is aired throughout the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area in production facilities provided by Fairfax Public Acess (FPA) in Fairfax, Virginia. Its volunteer staff has produced over 90 episodes during the last five years and has continued to carry out its mission of delivering quality programming about Turkey and the Turkish-American community.
